The teacher and her two assistants met us at the door to the classroom. We got a tour of all the
fun areas set up for group play, story time, kitchen play and others. Whitney loved the full length mirror hanging on one of the bookshelves and posed in front of it while Mel and I talked with her new teacher.
She is actually new to preschool age children although she's been teaching elementary classes for ten years now. I liked how she didn't refer to the classes as "special needs" or anything else. She simply calls it preschool and she has some high hopes to be able to get these kids working on listening comprehension, social skills and other important things.
The new school is beautiful and there's even a little playground specifically for the preschoolers and kindergartners. The first day is Monday, so we're excited (and a bit nervous) to see how everything goes.

How wonderful to have such a nice, new school so close to you! I'm glad to hear that the visit went well and that Whitney is ready to jump back into the daily routine. I can't wait to hear how today went. We send hugs from Illinois!!!
So exciting! It's wonderful that Whitney loves school. She looks great. She is a little inspiration.
