Whitney Reads Her First Book

Whitney has been working with her sight words and has progressed on to reading short, simple books.  This one is her first, about people and their homes.  She reads it every day for practice.  But every time she smiles and is so proud of the accomplishment.  Melanie and I are proud of her too.  She may have special needs but she clearly has no limits.

Great job Whitney!

Thanks! She loves reading. Yesterday Melanie actually caught her with the book practicing by herself. She's pretty motivated. :-)

It is said to see that disabled children face not only attitude, but also a policy barriers. See the story at EmaxHealth.

Study finds disabled children excluded, bullied and discriminated against.

That is so neat to share with us. Thanks. I just can't get over seeing her... she and Taylor look so much alike the resemblance is so crazy and their movements, the same. With their hair the same when her head is down reading it seriously looks just like my Taylor. I don't know if I will ever get used to this. They could be twins. I'm so happy to see her doing so well. Taylor loves reading books too and when she is not listening to her music or something stimulating she is looking through all her books.

It's good to hear from you, Jenny. We miss seeing Whitney's "twin sister", Taylor. We'll have to find some time to get together again. Hope you guys are doing well and have a merry Christmas!
