School Update
Whitney has been back in school a little over a month. So this week I'd like to give a bit of a progress update. Last year we had some concerns about her shutting down a bit in class because the class was very large and noisy. This caused Whit to withdraw and she really didn't progress as well as her teacher, Melanie and I had hoped.
We were told that this school year would be better and so far it has. The class is down to eight children including a couple of model children. And Whitney is taking part in many more of the activities. Her teacher reports that she is signing more and following instructions in class a lot better. She's also able to get from the classroom to the bus almost by herself using her walker.
She's brought home all kinds of art projects to hang on our fridge and also at my desk at work. Her teacher reports that she is interacting a lot more with the other kids and even plays socially with them during playtime.
She's learned about the big green monster under the bed, Little Miss Muffet and other interesting topics.
So while we're still going to supplement her learning with therapy visits at the local children's hospital, things have been getting a lot better at school lately. It's always nice to get a good report card.

So glad to hear things at Whitney's school are going well for her. School is an adjustment for all kids! And I loved the video on your last post. I hope Alayna laughs like that someday! It is absolutely priceless in every sense of the word. Whitney is so adorable and I can't wait to meet her in Florida soon. Liam...what a cutiepie too! He makes that Johnny Jumper look easy!
