Tummy Troubles

I'm grateful that Whitney is not as sickly as she used to be when she was younger.  Most of the time she's in pretty good health (1p36 Deletion Syndrome-related complications aside of course).  We've had a strange experience the last couple weeks though.  On Monday morning last week and again today, Melanie has started getting Whit ready for school, then all of the sudden she gets sick to her stomach.  She seems pretty much normal the rest of the time and by the evening, both last week and today, she's back to eating normally and keeping everything down.

None of the rest of us have caught a stomach bug and Whit's teachers at school haven't seen students out with stomach flu either.  So we're thinking it's not viral.  But the fact that it's happened the last two weeks in a row is a little troubling.  I hope she's not developing some new food allergy.

Melanie reported today that things looked a little mucus-like when she was sick, so we're wondering if her stomach is just reacting badly to a head cold that's draining.  Poor Whit doesn't know how to clear her throat or blow her nose.  So maybe too much of the yuck is ending up in her stomach and making her sick.  We're really not sure.

Sorry to be so gross this week.  Maybe I'll have to make a new label for "Too much Information."  I just hope we figure out what's going on soon.  When Whit's sick on Mondays she misses a third of her school week just like that!  I'll post an update as soon as we get to the bottom of this.  Wish us luck. ;-)

Oh no, poor Whitney. It is strange that no one else around her has had the flu. I hope you get to the bottom of things soon, or better yet, that Whitney gets better soon!

I love the idea of the TMI category. Sometimes it seems like all I talk about is poop, etc, etc! My mom visited this week and was a bit shocked to see a poster we had put up on our fridge. It has a diagram showing how to administer some seizure medication. She said "you have pictures of a bare butt on your fridge!" Woops.
