As part of Whitney's fourth birthday celebration it was time to go visit her pediatrician for her annual checkup. The bad news was that she had to get four shots. She was brave and they didn't hurt too bad. And there was good news from the visit too. At Whitney's three year checkup, she was in the 10th percentile for height and a -5 percent for weight. One year later, Whitney has jumped up to the 50th percentile for height. What a shock! She jumped up to the average height on the typical growth chart.
Now it's time to work on the weight. She made some advances there too, but she's still only up to -3 percent in weight. So we'll keep working on the eating, but the best thing is that Whitney is indeed growing. And looking back, Melanie reminded me today that this was the first year Whitney has not been hospitalized for dehydration and severe stomach flu. We'll count that as a blessing as well.

Hooray for Whitney! She must be growing like crazy. I bet when her growth spurt levels off her weight will have a chance to catch up. We know first hand how hard you two work at helping her gain and grow.
